In “I am Ozzy”, Osbourne talked about his music career, his marriages as well as the troubles that he encountered during his 40-plus years in the entertainment industry. Osbourne told both the highs and lows of his life and was not afraid to be honest with the story of his life. The autobiography book was written in a conversational way with Osbourne’s “voice” which makes it easy for his readers to understand his life and make them feel like Osbourne really is talking to them. Osbourne’s fans would have an even closer look at the life that Osbourne had – from living in hardship to having been jailed to the heavy metal superstar that we now know of. This autobiography book is truly a must-read for the fans of the Godfather of Heavy Metal.

John Michael Osbourne, famously known as Ozzy Osbourne is an English singer and songwriter very much recognized in the heavy metal scene. Because of some of the lyrics used in his songs, he was called the “Prince of Darkness”. Osbourne was the lead vocalist of the heavy metal band Black Sabbath. However, he was fired from the band due to the effects of substance abuse on him. His career was revived by his second wife, Sharon Osbourne. Sharon is the daughter of Osbourne’s manager, Don Arden. They met during the time when Osbourne was still with Black Sabbath. When Sharon took over Osbourne’s career, he was able to rise again and had his solo career. Together with Sharon, they created the Ozzfest. Osbourne also appeared in a successful television series by MTV which was entitled The Osbournes. The show documented Osbourne’s family and their daily routine. Osbourne has 6 children – 3 from his first marriage (1 of them was adopted) with Thelma Riley and 3 more with Sharon.

Eric Clapton was born March 30th, 1945. He has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame three times for each of the aforementioned bands and solo act, he is the only person to accomplish this feat. In the Rolling Stones ’100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time’ Clapton ranked fourth. Clapton joined The Yardbirds in 1963 and stayed with them for two years. In 1966 Clapton formed the band Cream. Clapton married Pattie Boyd in 1979 and the song “Layla” was written for her. SEE THIS BOOK ON SALE

“I’ve always wanted to be able to tell stories, you know, stories that came from my soul. I’d like to sit by a fire and tell people stories – make them see pictures, make them cry and laugh, take them anywhere emotionally with something as deceptively simple as words. I’d like to tell tales to move their souls and transform them. I’ve always wanted to be able to do that. Imagine how the great writers must feel, knowing they have that power. I sometimes feel I could do it. It’s something I’d like to develop. In a way, songwriting uses the same skills, creates the emotional highs and lows, but the story is a sketch. It’s quicksilver. There are very few books written on the art of storytelling, how to grip listeners, how to get a group of people together and amuse them. No costumes, no makeup, no nothing, just you and your voice, and your powerful ability to take them anywhere, to transform their lives, if only for minutes.” –Michael Jackson, in Moonwalk SEE THIS BOOK ON SALE

Johnny Cash aka “The Man In Black” was a country music legend. Known for being a rugged individualist he shares many stories of his up and down life through many struggles and hard-won triumphs. Travelling down an anything but easy road of life, Cash candidly explains about his addiction battles with amphetamines, his playing music with the legendary Elvis, having a more than devoted wife, and personal thoughts about afterlife and actual life. Although he was a well known musician, his autobiography is depicted as a humble but private man with complex and compelling tales. He truly resembles a man that ‘walked the line’. Johnny Cash, is considered an American music icon. His music and songs influenced many genres of American music but is most notably known for his country music.

Johnny Cash was born on February 26, 1932 and died on September12, 2003. He is undoubtedly one of the most influential American singer/songwriters of the 20th century. Because he had trials and tribulations throughout his life, songs of his reflect sorrow and moral redemption. There was a movie made after him called “Walk the Line” starring Joaquin Phoenix.

Michael Jackson was born August 29, 1958 and died June 25, 2009 while preparing for an upcoming concert tour ‘This Is It’. He debuted with his brothers as part of the Jackson 5 in 1964 and his solo career started in 1971. He owns the highest selling album of all time with his 1982 release Thriller. Known for inventing the ‘moonwalk’, Jackson also is symbolized by the one glove he wore during performances (which some people claim was to hide a skin discolorment cause by the disease vitiligo). Michael has already been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and took his music videos from a promotional purpose to a form of art. His legacy was tarnished with sexual child abuse charges made in 1993, and he was taken to court in 2005 concerning these allegations but was acquitted.

Walk This Way: The Autobiography of Aerosmith book begins with lead singer Steven Tyler’s intervention, when his loved ones sat him down one day in 1986 to discuss his hard partying lifestyle and backtracks to follow the band from their New Hampshire roots through their success in Boston in the 1970′s to the stellar music career that has earned them a place among the rock n’ roll greats and worldwide fame and fortune. It talks about their wild partying, women, drugs, booze and riches and follows them on their journey to eventual sobriety. Tyler talks in the book about his relatives from Italy and shares some of his memories of growing up. The autobiography captures the thoughts and views of all five band members who talk openly about both the ups and the downs of their ride to fame. There are also interviews with the women that have been in their lives, their lives, and other people who have hung around the group. If you want the candid truth of what the exact life of a rock star entails you will get it delivered with Walk This Way.

Aerosmith was formed in Boston in 1970. They signed their music contract in 1972 with Columbia Records and released their first album in 1973 with the self titled album Aerosmith. They have been called the ‘Bad Boys of Boston’. In 1993, Get a Grip was their first album to debut at #1 on the charts. The band also scored a success in the video game world with the 2008 release of Guitar Hero: Aerosmith. The band’s members are Steven Tyler, Joe Perry, Brad Whitford, Tom Hamilton, and Joey Kramer. SEE THIS BOOK ON SALE
