The Rock Says is the autobiography book of one of the most prominent wrestling superstars in the 90’s – Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. Written during the height of The Rock’s wrestling career, this autobiography book contains the life of this wrestler beginning from his early life as a the grandson of High Chief Peter Maivia and the son of Rocky Johnson to the time when he eventually made a name for himself as a third-generation wrestler in professional wrestling. In his memoir, The Rock talked about his childhood experiences such as growing up travelling with his father and seeing his grandfather and father compete in wrestling. He also discussed about his college years when he played football for the University of Miami and the struggles that he faced as he made his way as a football player. The Rock continued his life story with his entry to the WWF. He shared the happenings inside and outside of the ring and showed his readers a view of what his life was. He disclosed his experiences which led him to be called “The People’s Champ”. Aside from his careers as a colligate football player and a wrestler, The Rock also recounted his family life as well as his love life. This is a must read autobiography for any wrestling fan.

Dwayne Johnson, also known by his ring name – The Rock, is an American actor and retired professional wrestler. He was also a player for the Miami Hurricanes during his college years. Johnson is the first third-generation wrestler in WWF being the son of WWE Hall of Famer Rocky Johnson and grandson of High Chief Peter Maivia. Michael Lewis wrote about the famous sport by means of discussing the offensive football strategy and the rise of the importance of the left tackle. In his book, Lewis talked about Michael Jerome Oher; an offensive tackle for the Baltimore Ravens who can be considered as an athlete with a very promising career. Lewis recounted the life of this young American football player from his early beginnings as one of the twelve children of his biological mother who suffered from drug addiction up to the time when he played for his college’s football team with the help of his adoptive parents. Apart from the author’s take on football and it’s system, “The Blind Side” contains a human interest story which readers can learn from in this autobiography book. The book has been adapted for the 2009 film The Blind Side.

Michael Jerome Oher was born on May 26, 1986 in Memphis, Tennessee. Formerly Michael Jerome Williams, Jr., Oher was adopted by Leigh Anne and Sean Tuohy. He plays as an offensive tackle for the Baltimore Ravens of the NFL. Before his adoption, Oher lived a difficult life. His mother was addicted to drugs even when she was pregnant with Oher which resulted to Oher having little guidance throughout his adolescent years. He also had trouble with his grades in school especially during the first and second grades which he kept on repeating. Even before he was 16, Oher lived in foster homes and also experienced becoming homeless. Oher and his adoptive parents met at Oher’s high school – Briarcrest Christian School where the Touhy couple’s son and daughter also studied. Oher received numerous awards and recognitions during his college years playing for the Ole Miss Rebels at the University of Mississippi. In 2009, he was drafted by the Baltimore Ravens and was the 23rd pick in the first round of the 2009 NFL Draft.

It is written in an oral history style rather than the usual autobiography book. Put together by New York Times Best-Selling author and sports journalist Don Yaeger, the book’s contents are from Payton’s interviews accompanied by stories from Payton’s family and dear friends since Payton passed away even before the book was finished. The book showed its readers what kind of person Payton is aside from the football superstar that he was. In this autobiography book, Payton’s early life and his career with the Chicago Bears was discussed. The book also talked about his philanthropy, the affection he felt for his fans, his love for his family, the work that he did, and how he bravely battled the rare liver disease which caused his death at a young age. Payton’s autobiography is a must-read for any football fan as well as for anyone who wants to have an inspirational read.

Known as Sweetness around the NFL, Walter Payton was an American football player who professionally played only for the Chicago Bears. Payton was born on July 25, 1954. He has two children with wife Connie Norwood. This Pro Football Hall of Famer was a nine-time Pro Bowl selection and was one of the greatest running backs in American football. Payton was not only a great member of the NFL but more importantly an even greater member of the society. He funded and organized Christmas toy drives so that every child in the State of Illinois Department of Children and Family Services system would receive presents during Christmas mornings and he did this anonymously. He also played a big part in the awareness of the need for organ donations. Payton suffered from primary sclerosing cholangitis, a rare liver disease, for several months which later on claimed his life.

Tiger woods was born December 30th, 1975. He has transformed the game of golf and has become one of the most recognized professional athletes in the world. He has earned over $1 Billion dollars in his career to date, the majority of which through endorsements from sponsors such as Nike and American Express. Tiger Woods won the Masters in 1997 and won 13 more major championships through 2008. In November 2003, Tiger got engaged to Elin Nordegren (a Swedish model) and they married October 5th 2004. They had one child in 2007 and another in 2009. In November 2009 Tiger Woods was involved in a car accident outside his Orlando Florida home and the resulting media coverage leds to stories of infidelity, mistresses, and a side of a Tiger on the prowl rather than the golden boy image that he has portrayed previously. SEE THIS BOOK ON SALE
