Going Rogue: An American Life – The Sarah Palin Autobiography is a book about the former Alaskan Governor who came out of nowhere to become a Vice Presidential Candidate (and the first female to earn this distinction) during the 2008 Elections as the running mate of John McCain. In her autobiography, Sarah Palin talks about growing up in Alaska, meeting her high school future husband as they both went to Wasilla High School, talking about her decision to enter the political world, how her family and her faith play an important role in her life, and more. She talks about the 2008 Presidential race candidly and gives you the view of politics from a mom’s eyes. This 432 page autobiography is a must read and before it has been released was already on the Best Seller’s list.
Sarah Palin was born in Sandpoint, Idaho and her family moved when she was an infant. She grew up in Alaska and graduated from Wasilla High School in 1982. She won the Miss Wasilla pageant and came in third in the Miss Alaska Pageant. She went to the University of Idaho where she received a degree in communications. She served two terms on the city coucil of Wasilla and then went on to serve two terms as Mayor. She chaired major Alaskan commissions and was elected the first female Governer of Alaska in 2006.
