Patrick Swayze, best known for his breakthrough role in the original Dirty Dancing, made a reputable career for himself,that lasted 30+ years on screen, TV, and the stage. He was one of the most beloved actors, known for his passion, versatility and most of all his fearlessness. Swayze was brought up in Texas, and through personal struggles including being beat up in high school because he took ballet. Although he tried football to look more macho, his heart was truly into dance. His rise to fame also includes such movies as Ghost and North and South. Patrick was a down to earth actor, who although diagnosed with and battling stage IV pancreatic cancer still acted until the end. He was a fighter and refused to let the disease bring him down.
