Her autobiography book was released on 1997 but the details of the book were those of the events that happened until 1964. Even though her autobiography was written before 1964, it was only found by her former attorney a few years after Ball’s death. After 1964, Ball did not go back to writing her memoir. She also chose not to publish it during that time to avoid hurting the feelings of Desi Arnaz, her husband at the time. The book talks about her personal life as well as her career in the entertainment industry. Ball discussed her childhood experiences, her dreams and her family. She expressed her longing for attention due to her father’s death and her mother drawing back from her life which eventually led to her using her experiences as part of her career as a comedian. Ball was able to communicate not only the good things about her life but also the bad ones. Love, Lucy is an autobiography book that would truly be a treasure for any of Ball’s fans especially since it would help bring back memories of their beloved actress.

Lucille Desiree Ball, born on August 6, 1911, is an award-wining American actress known for starring in popular sitcoms such as I Love Lucy and The Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour. She has been recognized for having one of the longest careers in Hollywood. Ball married Cuban actor-musician Desi Arnaz in 1940 and starred with him in the hit sitcom I Love Lucy. They have 2 children: Lucie Arnaz and Desi Arnaz, Jr – both are actors and actresses. Ball and Arnaz divorced but remained friends. Ball remarried another actor – Gary Morton. She died on April 26, 1989 due to a dissecting aortic aneurysm at age 77.
