President Reagan wrote in his diary every night since he seated in office during his two terms. He always wrote diary entries daily except for the time that he was hospitalized due to an assassination attempt. This autobiography book contains his thoughts on politics as well as personal matters. He expressed his feelings towards his wife Nancy Reagan and his family and spoke fondly of his other half. Reagan discussed about his relationships with leaders of different sectors like politics and the religious sects. In his diaries, Reagan did not only describe his take on politics like the Cold War, people he worked with and the decisions that he made; but also simple things that he did daily. He also talked about his faith in God despite not regularly going to church. “The Reagan Diaries” allows its readers to see the inner thoughts of this great American leader.

Ronald Wilson Reagan was born on February 6, 1911. He was the 40th President of the United States. Reagan served two terms in office, first in 1981 to 1985 and the second in 1985 to 1989 which was a landslide. However, it wasn’t all win for Reagan. In 1868 and 1976, Reagan lost in his run for the Republican presidential nomination. It was on 1980 that he won the nomination. President Reagan’s policies in economics were referred to as Reaganomics which were basically centered on lower taxes and a smaller government. Prior to becoming the President, Ronald Reagan was the 33rd Governor of California. He served from 1967 to 1975. Before Reagan started his political career, he was in the entertainment business first. He was a talent in different radio stations, a television and movie actor as well as a former president of the Screen Actors Guild. Reagan was married twice, the first with actress Jane Wyman with whom he had 3 children (one of them was adopted) and the second with actress Nancy Davis with whom he had 2 children.
